OUR HISTORY

Prachuap Industry Company Limited was founded by the family of Mr. Kitti Chinthammit.

The company was established in May 1973, the factory was built in Tha Maka District, Kanchanaburi Province and later the first sugar production had started in December 1974.

Initially, the production capacity of sugarcane production was 8,000 tons per day, as time passed by, the investment of the company had been made continuously to improve production e.g. separation of contaminated sugar cane and sugar cane juice, increasing the efficiency of sugar boiling, canceling the use of harmful toxic chemicals such as sulfur dioxide, automation systems to help controlling the production, etc.

At present, the factory has a capacity of sugarcane production capacity of 13,000 tons per day.

Raw Sugar

Raw sugar is granulated sugar obtained from the primary production process through simmering and crystallization. Raw sugar can be dark brown and low purity; in general, it has a high color value, which cannot be consumed directly. Consequently, this kind of sugar will be exported to foreign markets or stored as raw materials in order to produce white sugar and refined sugar accordingly.

Bagasses

Bagasses are sugarcane that has been crushed by the roller, having the characteristics of plant fibers, generally used in sugar factories as steam fuel in order to generate electricity. In addition, bagasses can be used in the productions of animal feed, pulp, plywood, etc.

Electricity

The company has a 24 megawatts power plant using renewable energy from biomassfuel (bagasse), which is a by-product of sugarcane crushing process. Electric power produced is used in the sugar production and can partly sell to the Provincial Electricity Authority.

Filter cake

Filter cake, which farmers, commonly known as sugarcane fertilizer, is a mixture of sugarcane residue from the farms that still contain some juice mixed with soil debris. This sludge can be recycled into the soil and essentially used to improve organic matter which can be used by  utilized process through microbial fermentation for 1-2 months, in order to decompose sludge into organic form that plants can absorb well.
